| DESIGN NAME: Grand View Resort PRIMARY FUNCTION: Resort INSPIRATION: By means of the changes and variations of the geological conditions and climates that tell the story about the resort, the designer has installed the stone material, say marble, in the entrance lobby so that the lobby is filled with the atmosphere of endless clouds, large ceiling windows, sunrise and sunset, and variations of four seasons. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: On top of that, the designer has also applied into the resort the ideas and colors of metal, wood, water, fire and earth, the five elements describing the relationships and orders of the forces in the universe commonly seen in traditional Chinese literatures. The furnishing, made by the idea from the five elements and along from the reception center to the floor, is extended moderately from the wall behind the counter to the floor around the reception area, the design making the water flow under the counter, and symbolizing the profits unlimitedly pouring from everywhere. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: By extending the design appropriately from the ceiling to the wall, the designer has expressed a visual representation as if people living in the place surrounded by clouds, mists, and mountains. On another part of the wall, the patterns of tree branches in present by frosted glass which creates the poetic and dream-like scenario that people walk in the forest where is suffused with clouds. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: In the separate VIP rooms, the artistic image of vibrantly running waterfall is created by the design of sloped ceiling, beam columns, and beam columns. The white geometric folded plates correspond harmoniously to the water landscape. The low cabinet, made of sanded sycamore, shows artistic image of the rocks and trees flushed by waterfall, the muddy vegetation cover, and the large beige rocks flowing to the river. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 354 square meters TAGS: Resort RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Because of the different geological conditions and the design of the golf course, every game, with respect to every player, is one-of-a-kind challenge. Therefore, at the reception counter on the fourth floor, the screens are decorated with 18 different hand-made green-shape kiln formed glass, which displays the concept of golf in this resort. CHALLENGE: The ideas that express the spirit of nature throughout the construction materials which are remodeled by different design skills have successfully present the artistic conceptions of water and mountain into space.
