DESIGN NAME: Nutratify
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Capsules container
INSPIRATION: The unusual design of the container has been inspired by the Aristotle’s conception of the five elements. The conception typically refers to the prescientific concepts of earth, water, air, fire, and aether, which were proposed to explain the nature and complexity of all matter.
The typical star shape of the conception, identified into the Nutratify logo, it has been reduced to the overlap of two upside down triangles which symbolise the female when pointing downward and the male when facing upward. The container design wants to be the representation of the Aether, essence of life.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The body of the container has an assortment of characteristics and diagnostic features that can help people to enjoy more their experience.
The shape has been designed to be practical. Easy to carry, comfortable to grab and stable while in the bag or in the car.
The look&feel has focused on making a product to enjoy everyday. Simple and elegant to be exposed.
It comes with a connection to a device. Through an app, user will be able to get notification on the taking and other informations.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Alongside with the physical package, there is a app which connects the product to a device and allows customers to keep track of their taking, and more. Customer can easily scan the QR code on the package, or visit Nutratify website to download the app for free. Every bottle has an ID number to makes them unique and recognisable from the app which has features such as, customer informations (age, gender, weight, taking plan...) and alert to buy new rations, notifications about new products.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in August 2016, in Wellington New Zealand, and it has been completed in October 2016. It was ready for production, in China, from middle October 2016. It has supposed to be on the asian and oceania market, by January 2017.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The new Nutratify container has been made of plastic. It has been designed in three different molds, bottom, top and cup. The bottom and the top have been joined by torsion while the cup has been attached to the top through a butterfly system.
Because of its unusual shape, wasn't possible to print and stick on it, a normal label. We opted for Multicolor Pad Printing instead, which can combine 4 colours (CMYK) to create all the tones needed.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The general measurements of the container are: width 55mm x depth 45mm x Height 140mm
Technical properties: PET (polyethylene terephthalate) has been chosen as packaging material. It has property to create a good barrier against the UV rays and it is recyclable and mutually compatible plastic.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Research has been based on past, present and future. I tried to collect information about the pharmaceutic products, vintage glass bottles and materials.
I analysed the present setting up a survey, and looking at the shelves in the supermarkets and specialized shops which helped to collect info about the existing products on the market and how people would improve them.
I looked at the future to find out how to use a new attractive technology that could be used in synergy with the product itself.
CHALLENGE: Its main challenge was to organise and manage many people involved, around the world. As Creative Director, I had to deal with the client in Singapore, but also the production team in China, the 3D modelling team (Hunap Studio) in Budapest and the product and label design in USA.
Definitely, online software as Trello Board and Slack have helped with the management and the communication of this project.
