| DESIGN NAME: DORICIOUS PRIMARY FUNCTION: Restaurant INSPIRATION: “Doricious” embracesthe rich and diverse Italian culinary culture and its relaxing dining atmosphere, while adding a French touch by presenting visually amusing dishes. Serving fresh, balanced fusion food inspired by different cultures, Doricious prides itself on the quality service and tasteful ambiance. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Instead of incorporating intricate and classical elements, simple panels and 3D metal frames are used to create a European dining space that breathes modern simplicity. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: “Doricious” embracesthe rich and diverse Italian culinary culture and its relaxing dining atmosphere, while adding a French touch by presenting visually amusing dishes. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in December 2015 and finished in March 2016, and was opened in May 2016 in Taipei. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Interior Space and Exhibition Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Teak wood, taupe paint, matte gold iron decorations and grass lamps add warmth to the space. Details such as wood art, metal elements, mullion glass structures, gratings and Bolon carpets give the space a distinct character. Bright and lively colors such as red, yellow and orange colors are used for the 3D paintings on the wall. Fun ornaments create a festive vibe, which create an appetizing dining atmosphere. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The brand image, visual design and interior planning follow the theme by combining colors, materials and styles to connect the food and its environment. TAGS: Food Culture , Restaurant , Doricious , Interior space , Food and Beverage, RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The name Doricious is inspired by the Chinese idiom “Da Kuai DuoYi”, which depicts the satisfying feeling after gorging on delicious food. The restaurant celebrates the spirit by carefully preparing the most delicious dishes for its guests. CHALLENGE: Greyish green and white compose a calming and elegant theme while geometric shapes surprise us with variation with a twist. Wall mirrors give the illusion of space and enhance ceilings, which glow in unison with the floors. The rich texture of white oak adds depth and layers to the harmonious structure.
