| DESIGN NAME: Travler's Ark PRIMARY FUNCTION: Interior Design INSPIRATION: To create an atmosphere that let people feel they are in a journey, an unknown journey, like Noah's Ark! after all, we know we will find a place can lie down. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Traveler—it’s the representative of something we dream of, and someone who passes us by. It could be you or I, or someone else. In an unknown travel, we may have something unique to remember, all because we choose to stay there and not elsewhere. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Dream is like we go somewhere that we never been and see something that we never seen before, also like travel. That's why we wanna create a space let traveler is like invite by their own self to enjoy the dream. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project is located at Taiwan, Taichung City. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Marble, Mirror, leather, costume furniture, costume lighting SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 1586.784㎡ TAGS: Urban, Boutique, Luxury, Dream, Hospitality, Fantasy RESEARCH ABSTRACT: - CHALLENGE: In the lobby, screens are used to divide spaces for different functions, allowing every person who walks through to get prepared for the next trip. The screens add some vertical line in the horizontal space, enriching the visual experience.Maybe you’ll notice that there sculptures of two elephants and a bird with a leaf, which symbolize the desire to find greenness of Noah’s Ark. The piece of artwork by sculptor Page Tsou is a gift for the guests. Perhaps you would find your favorite writer, or your favorite quote about travel on the wall, such as the one from Henry Miller: “one’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing thing.’’ Here, you might find something—a picture or a few words—that reminds you of those special moments in your memory.
