DESIGN NAME: Original dots
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Spa Space
INSPIRATION: This spa club design was inspired by the Qun Yue,the business that runs the spa shop. The “Q” was taken as an emblem to further develop a significant element.”Q” appears like bubbles on the surface of partitions and ceilings, and “Q” appears as a cell with many cells split from the first one. The sign signifies how life can be rejuvenated and refreshed moving from dormancy to liquidity.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project divides the Spa space into two main sections for women and men, with each section featuring a separate reception desk. It employs the Chinese design concept of Yin and Yang, of the Void and of the Concrete, wherein the embryonic round dots in the two sections overlap and permeate each other, thereby characterising the space as a whole.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: A Spa journey for body and soul, as if returning to a simple, pure and original state of life that we are becoming aware of again. Just like a living being in the form of an embryonic round dot, simple and pure – but full of boundless energy.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in June 2015 and finished in March 2016 in Taiwan.
