RESEARCH ABSTRACT: By reinventing the duplex from top to bottom, knocking down walls, replacing the bulky staircase with a more streamlined one. The present two- bedroom apartment is spacious with two distinct zones. Downstairs, we created a loft-like space with an open living & dining room. Meanwhile, the upstairs spaces have a warmer feel that's in keeping with client role as bedrooms and bathrooms.
CHALLENGE: From a dingy, dark original layout, with only one side have big window, we reconfigured the space into a large open-plan to maximize more natural light.
