| DESIGN NAME: Light From the Universe PRIMARY FUNCTION: Cinema INSPIRATION: Meteorite stones travel around the universe quietly, they become meteors when crashing into the atmosphere of the Earth and burning, it is one of many tide turning scenes in the world. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: A series of poster screens decorated with white wooden strips finish are located within white stony looking tiles, it is such a disciplinal environment at the entrance, then here comes the amazing part when entering, which is the feature ceiling with massive layers of bronze coloured ornaments that glitters in front of audiences’ eyes, as well as the counter with same coloured metal pieces features on below. NAME: Cinecity Cinemas PROFILE: The target of the project is to design a cinema in Shantou with a dramatic outcome, “lights from the universe to the ground” has been chosen as the design theme, in order to achieve this design target. In favor of building a dramatic interior, clutching of different design styles and materials is a common action to take in this project. No matter how things change in the interior, the design is basically following the form of spotlight to abide the design theme. As playing a main role of the project, “light” itself has been materialized and even broken into scattered pieces for a dramatic effect. |
