| DESIGN NAME: Skynet PRIMARY FUNCTION: Display space INSPIRATION: This project in located in Shanghai, Shanghai was a small fishing village, the worker wake up early in the morning to go fishing everyday, and the fishing net is our design inspiration, we use the shape of net into interior space, there will be an original Shanghai flavor, with the main color of white, make the space look more modern. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: as our inspiration is net ,we put the net in the ceiling, then we called skynet, Skynet structure: The structure uses fishing net on which fishermen rely for livelihoods. A Raschel Warp Knitting Machine equipped with 4 to 8 guide bars weaves warp yarns to nets, and that is called as warp knitted knotless net, short for warp knitting method. The warp knitted knotless net is smooth, wear-resistant, light in weight, stable in structure and high in knot strength. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: We use cardboard production model, we analyze the structure of the ceiling, then calculated the forming force, we need to consider the main materials, it should be lightly and reliable, then we applied to the design , we use wood to do the ceiling, with white painted.just like the skynet. This project is designed by Kris lin and Jiayu yang. They came to the site to do some research and wanted to help customers find the suitable style compeleting the projects. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: It is exhibited in shanghai , China in August 2016. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: main material is wood in the ceiling , with chinese traditional technology, and marble in floor. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: the dimensions:450 SM TAGS: Net, Display, Extension RESEARCH ABSTRACT: this project is located in shanghai, with the net technology, we know about that: Technique: Joggling is a technique frequently used in traditional buildings of China. It is the gem human wisdom. Joggling is a joint method that inserts tenon into mortice hole or mortice groove. It is a fundamental jointing method for classical Chinese furniture and modern furniture, as well as a main jointing method for modern framework furniture. CHALLENGE: using the traditional technology into the modern design, we usually use this technology in making chinese furnitures in the past years. no one use that in interior ceiling, and it also very beautiful! 2, the color is very important, we use white in ceiling and floor, to make the space more large and bright. it is an innovative idea.
