| DESIGN NAME: Infinity Trinity Tower PRIMARY FUNCTION: Office building INSPIRATION: The project started from the premise of a modern solution that reflects the technological aspect of the city of Sao Jose dos Campos (Embraer headquarters) and could stand out of the higher buildings in the surrounding area. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Commercial building with 10 floors and over 100 small commercial offices in Sao Jose dos Campos, SP, Brazil. Located on a small plot and with high buildings in the neighborhood, the architect had the challenge to design a building that could stand out from its neighbors and become a local reference. Using a facade with a simple combination of elements such as glass, masonry and brise soleil, in a staggered geometric arrangement with balconies, and a concrete beam with two different profiles on the top floor, the architect created a solution that addresses the issues proposed. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The building has two main entrances. The first one is in direct contact with the commercial space located on the ground floor. The second one is to the tower and offices that happens through the building's lobby, where is located the access control desk. The vehicles access to the underground parking is at the Piquiroes Street and exit at the Alfredo Penido Street. The loading and unloading, as well as the quick parking space, occurs through access at Alfredo Penido Street. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Project started in 2012 and the construction was finished in 2016 at Sao Jose dos Campos, SP - Brazil. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Concrete structure with prestressed waffle slabs without beams, creating spans of up to 9.3 m. Facade composed by aluminum windows and glass using structural glazing system. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Site area: 1.395 sqm Built area: 8.885 sqm 40 meters high commercial building with 10 floors. 104 offices ranging from 24 sqm to 419 sqm. Ground floor with lobby, multi-purpose room and 300 sqm space with direct street access. TAGS: office building, construction, architecture, small offices, real estate, Brazil RESEARCH ABSTRACT: - CHALLENGE: Design and construct a building that could stand out from the higher surrounding buildings, considering the availability of a smaller plot and new local laws that limit the height of buildings.
