DESIGN NAME: Embassy Flavours Website Design
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Website
INSPIRATION: Motivation was taken from the modern design languages that were unveiled by Google and Apple in 2015. Material design (Google) and iOS design (Apple) principles were fundamental in creating a cohesive and enjoyable user experience for the Embassy Flavour's website. That in combination with a simplistic design aesthetic and bold imagery has lead to a night-and-day redesign that greatly enhances user experience.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: A top-to-bottom redesign of Embassy Flavour's web experience. Using leading edge material design principles in combination with a simple and modern aesthetic, Embassy's website and overall online experience were transformed and greatly enhanced. Beautiful imagery and rich text were incorporated into a mobile-first design resulting in a greatly improved and enjoyable online experience.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This website was designed first and foremost for functionality and ease of use. The pages are designed to highlight the cutting-edge products that Embassy Flavours makes. The full list of products offered is easy to find and intuitively laid out so that users of all types- not just experts in the field- can locate what they need. We also took special care to optimize a mobile and desktop experience to enhance functionality for users in North America as well as Internationally.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project was started in mid-2016 in Toronto, Canada and was completed in early 2017.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Use of the Sketch app and leading design strategy techniques.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This website was built from the ground up. During the conceptualization phase, design strategy practices were used in conjunction with group sessions to best solve the challenges of this design. The Sketch App was used to create the resulting wireframes and the final creatives. The creatives were then coded optimized for both desktop and mobile views.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: An early discovery session was carried out to best understand the challenges that needed to be solved for this website. That meeting set the foundation for the brainstorming sessions and additional research that ensued. A deep competitor analyses was also used to ensure that the web experience built upon the industry norms. Another key element was testing; testing on mobile devices, testing on different browsers, testing at different sizes and with different connection speeds. All of this testing ensured that the site garnered strong results from Google's Pagespeed Insights (website testing tools) on both desktop and mobile,
CHALLENGE: Finding a way to engage users through fairly complex product lists and complex ingredients was a challenge. We used bold imagery of the (delicious) end-product and an emphasize on high-tech methods to help create buy-in and build a connection with the user that the competitor sites just didn't have.
