| DESIGN NAME: Parkview-Nanchang Vanke Sales Office PRIMARY FUNCTION: Exhibition, Communication INSPIRATION: The designer’s philosophy :"Design means not intentionally but just happens that way.” Like this entry "Parkview" UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The main concept of this entry is to interpret oriental charm in a modern way. Overlook the whole building from above, it’s a Chinese traditional U-shaped layout, a space is surrounded by water and stone. The beauty of scenery is ineffable, faintly visible from short distance, and all showed from a big picture, which express the oriental philosophy. Interior decoration also follows the art of Chinese tradition landscape painting: virtual and realistic. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: To bring scene into room, main wall used French windows on both sides, therefore guests can enjoy garden views no matter where they are; and people who works there will also enjoy the change of seasons from scenery outside the window, and taste the beauty of nature. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project started in September 2015 in Nanchang(China) and finished in February 2016. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Interior Space and Exhibition Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The entire space is decorated by local wood, which present a sense of time precipitation and set a solemn and elegant tone. The wooden batten is the key element used in the ceiling and walls, which bring the rythem beauty and unification to the space to create a warm and peaceful space. Grey marble surface create the oriental beauty in a simple and natural way, brings in the ink painting effect. Local featuring fruit like oranges contribute the main orange tone, perfect blend in with black, white and wood color, brighten entire space and increase a warm and lively temperament. Light color fabrics balance the softness and hardness, the whole space looks more sensitive and welcome. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The area of this space is about 600㎡. The space is divided into four functional areas: hallway is along with main entrance, on the right side is display area, reception area themed “tearoom” on the left, as well as cooking area on the opposite. TAGS: Localization, Chinese Ink Painting, U-shape Courtyard, Oriental Aesthetics, Blur the Indoor and Outdoor RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Oriental aesthetics live in technical details, materials, proportions and meanings. Only by understanding this, you can design a space with an oriental spirit. CHALLENGE: On the basis of the existing architecture, the designer try to create a peaceful environment for communication.
