| DESIGN NAME: A Series PRIMARY FUNCTION: Knives INSPIRATION: Cangshan is passionately focused on creating and offering products that perform flawlessly while speaking to the design conversations that are relevant to today's creative communities. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The A Series utilizes dense and durable African Blackwood in the knife block to accentuate the fluid curves and dark Walnut handles of the knives. Form and function seamlessly meld together to create a knife both luxurious and practical. Each forged and full tang knife feature flush seams, marrying the distinct materials while allowing the knife to comfortably fit the chef’s grip. A full range of essential kitchen and steak knives are securely housed in the richly textured, dark wood knife block. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The quality and craftsmanship of the knives ensure they precisely and effectively perform their cutting functions giving the user a responsive and refined tactile experience that enhances and augments their skills and process. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Each full tang knife blade is forged from German sourced (Solingen) high-alloy steel (X50CrMoV15) with a 58 +-2 on the Rockwell Hardness Scale. Walnut wood handles with a 1000 Janka Hardness are shaped and fitted to the tang to create flush seams. The knife block is made from dense and durable African Blackwood with a 3670 Janka Hardness Rating.
