| DESIGN NAME: The Accumulation of Wealth PRIMARY FUNCTION: Religion package and coin bank INSPIRATION: During the Lunar New Year, most of the Taiwanese people have worship habits who always pray for riches and agriculture products in the God of Wealth temple. God of Wealth temple provides people with “Lucky Money” after they communicate with the Gods. If People get Lucky Money, they can take it and place it in their own lucky position in the house or in the company. So we begin to think about how to make the package include agriculture products and how to make people can gain money by themselves. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The package was designed with five different colors because of the Five-way God of Wealth, and each color has their own meaning. In Taiwanese culture, each of person has own zodiac. Each of zodiac has different Five-Phase Theory of Chinese numerology. So, people can choose the package which color belong to their zodiac. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: There are several steps to be followed when people use the package. The first layer is a yellow prayer, people use it to communicate with the Gods and they have to burn it after they finish the communication. The second layer are tea bags, people can enjoy a cup of Taiwanese tea in the afternoon. The third layer is cereal, people should pour it into the rice cylinder which means they can gain harvest whole years. The last is a package, people should place it in their own lucky position and they should put a coin into the package as a coin bank every day. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: To use kraft paper and corrugated paper to design the structure of the package, do not use any glue, only using the slot to assemble the package. Also using foil stamping technology to demonstrate the figure of the Five-way God of Wealth. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 100mm x Depth 100mm x Height 100mm TAGS: Five-way God of Wealth, cereal package, teabag, religion package, package design, corrugated package, paper package RESEARCH ABSTRACT: From the past to now, Taiwan is full of religion culture. Many different temples were constructed in here that you can see them. People went to temple and prayed for good luck, peace, and success. But now, fewer and fewer young people want to do that. So, we want to promote this culture through this package design and also remind young people that they should preserve their unique temple culture in Taiwan. CHALLENGE: First, we have to design the structure of the package without using any glue. Second, drawing the Five-way God of Wealth, we need to visit the God of Wealth temple and sit in front of the wood carving statues to observe their features very carefully. We have to draw it again and again and to find out the best portrait which is in the line with their image.
