| DESIGN NAME: Context PRIMARY FUNCTION: Interior Residence INSPIRATION: The great artist Klimt once said “Life is art, Art is life.” The interactivity between function and emotion in this public space is the best way to prove this quote. Linear divide the open space into different area with different materials. Although it is conceal, it effectively brings out the regional concept. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Through flexible configuration, the dining area changed into open field, which allows family members communicate with each other and share their feelings. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Designers replace the bathroom with study room and swap the position of master bedroom and filial room. The study room at the middle of the house determines the exclusive space of each generation. It is private but connection between each other never stops. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Complete time: July, 2014~January, 2016 Location: Taipei, Taiwan. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Interior Space and Exhibition Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The implant of stones, woods and bricks create a gentle mood. Designers understand the space’s structure and environment, strengthen the space’s expression, and construct the space’s penetrating. Designer restores the features of materials, at the same time implant humanity. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: A 182 sqm, 30-year-old apartment has the requirement for three generations. Designers use dimensions of change to identify the independence but open area, which presents a rich structural order. TAGS: FE Design, residence, Interior Design, Interior, Design, space, Interior Architecture, Taiwan, home, house RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Harmonious is the Chinese’s aesthetic concept. Through this concept, designers fuse in functional and displays, widen the living room. Natural sunlight flows into the living room make everyone comfort, the living room then becomes the best place to communicate with other family members. CHALLENGE: A 30-year-old apartment will easily face a lightning issue. Designers fill up the semi-open study room with matte glass and iron, making different field mutually coherent, at the same time apply the sunlight flows in the space.
