DESIGN NAME: Face
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Faucet basin Mixer
INSPIRATION: The design of Face faucet basin mixer is inspired in the clear and crystalline but simultaneously robust forms, like the water that pours from her. With this project we wanted the creation of a design object, where cylindrical and asymmetrical shapes are clearly assumed, thus resulting in a object of contemporary dashing and simultaneously fun design.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The new tap born of a simple and robust line. The simplicity of its trace surprise by how reconciles the cylindrical lines from which comes your body and won personality by the flat face which gives a personal touch and unique communicating with the user through the primitive base and simultaneously intuitive and functional. As for materials, this new Ctesi® tap is available in brass with chrome finish or stainless steel.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The handle to activate the faucet, control the flow and adjust the temperature, is fully concealed in the vertical shape. When the user interacts with the object, it moves smoothly itself. The straight frontal part acts as the spout for the water to flow. Resulting in a extremely pure and soft object when requested.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The conceptual project started in May 2015 and finished in November 2015 in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal. The first prototype was presented in January 2016.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: An assessment of the faucet trends and its production technology was made, seeking to find an apelative and functional shape at a focused response to the user.
CHALLENGE: The first challenge was the deconstruction of a typical faucet, that is traditionally presented with a multi-volume shape, due to the traditional method of manufacturing. This concept of a faceted faucet combining the round and right forms were a good challenge.
