| DESIGN NAME: Finesse Design Atelier PRIMARY FUNCTION: Website INSPIRATION: Creating a unique online presence to reflect the sphere of expertise of Finesse Design Atelier and showcase attentively selected projects was the motivation behind the development of the portfolio website. Conscious of the challenges associated with crafting a design that stands out as an example of originality, we hope to have achieved a distinctive composition that generates a memorable experience. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Finesse Design Atelier is an award-winning Paris-based digital studio with a boutique approach to web design. It specializes in delivering unique, innovative and engaging solutions necessary to establish an exceptional online presence. Its objective is to create high quality digital strategies that captivate audiences and provide an unforgettable experience. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The objective of the composition was to offer a clean, uncluttered design that allows for easy navigation and seamless interplay between conception and content. The navigation structure is kept simple with a minimal drop down menu and a limited number of pages, providing necessary information without being overloaded. The design intentionally breaks with the Logo, Tagline, Best Work, Contact Info mold and adds an original concept of storytelling to the homepage UX. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Launched February 29th, 2016 in Paris. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: With enhanced user experience as prime focus, the website was developed using CSS 3, HTML 5 and jQuery. Layout structure adapts seamlessly to different devices. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Responsive design. Adapted for desktop, mobile, and tablet. Retina ready. Layout is HTML5-based and includes multiple transitions. Website supports most of major desktop and mobile browsers, especially Chrome, Firefox and Safari. TAGS: portfolio, clean, flat design, modern, photography, web design, responsive RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Drawing inspiration from prominent web resources, the atelier ensured that its portfolio website integrated current trends and well-established web standards. Adhering to the idea that creativity should know no bounds when it comes to individual showcase, our objective was to create a standout composition that would break the mold and venture into a new way of visual experience. CHALLENGE: To craft an individual design that deviates from the traditional matrix, yet is familiar enough to create an effortless user experience was definitely one of the biggest challenges in the conception of the portfolio website. To maintain seamless interplay between design and content while familiarizing the user with new, distinct aesthetics has proven to be a demanding task. We hope that the end result generates the kind of memorable experience we set out to produce.
