| DESIGN NAME: The Touch of Elegancy PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residence INSPIRATION: In a modern world that pursues of efficiency, accuracy, and globalization, heavy work load has become prevailed in contemporary life. It has been a big challenge for designer that how to make a residence a comfortable place different from the busy work. The house, in this project, is located at Xitun District, Taichung City. This is the house with a modern rest style, which creating a genuine place where the residents may enjoy privacy after work. When being paid attention for visual aesthetics and life details, the house can meet the requirements from family members. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The quality cypress sandblasting has been the main part of the exterior. By including the geometric elements of Piet Cornelies Mondrian, the designer applies this skill to conthe main wall and door slats. In the meantime, the lighting has been highlighting the geometric style and bright quality, the skills successfully creating a warm space with litheness. The irregular rectangular can be seen when designing the metallic artwork in the dining room. When demonstrating the consistency for vertical walls, the designer introduces the lighting without difficulty by fretwork, which creates the power of vision in visual and real space. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This is the house with a modern rest style, which creating a genuine place where the residents may enjoy privacy after work. When being paid attention for visual aesthetics and life details, the house can meet the requirements from family members. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in May 2015 in Taichung. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: By using the consistent design, different materials, geometric shapes, and both visual and reality in this house, the designer endows unique characteristic for different space and presents the appropriate space quality in abundant details. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 396 square meters TAGS: Residence RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In a modern world that pursues of efficiency, accuracy, and globalization, heavy work load has become prevailed in contemporary life. It has been a big challenge for designer that how to make a residence a comfortable place different from the busy work. The house, in this project, is located at Xitun District, Taichung City. CHALLENGE: The bed wall in the bedroom, a private space, has been painted into one main color. With the geometric wooden storage cabinet, the kids’ room is filled with vibrant light. The style of Piet Cornelies Mondrian has been reserved in the main room as well. The woven wall covering that extends area and the dangling chandelier that strengthens the perpendicularity have created the comfortable and peaceful atmosphere through the variations of lights.
