| DESIGN NAME: Apartment Lee PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential Interior Design INSPIRATION: The request was to transform an old home that originally belonged to the owner's parents into a space more suitable for a young.When first approached for the case,the owner is very cherish the old material and their memories with it over 17 years.Hence I advocated for minimal Design,less fixed wood work,more changeable construction transform from old piece. That would not only utilize Mr.Lee's precious mementoes that had been passed down generation by generation,but also minimize the unnecessary waste. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project revolved around several simple and movable mechanisms:a visual wall that could be easily flap for different style,a workshop that could be transformed into a guest room using a hidden old bed, a custom space for old storage case.Further than the housing renovation,I utilized construction resources to build many removable, reusable, and replaceable pieces of custom furniture using whatever material was left over. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The designer's main idea for this portfolio, therefore, is to bring into the least elements, the idea that makes "home" a place for living, rather than a place demonstrating the refurnishing skills. It is of great importance, for the designer, that how to preserve the original furniture, making the space filled with the memory and emotion. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Terrazzo SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 72.7 SQMT TAGS: terrazzo reuse tradition young RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Designer advocated a minimum of new interventions, so that space as a supporting role, to become master of the vessel of life, and the owners left for the elders of the old objects and also emotional memory, so the whole case revolves around how save/keep those old furniture in the new space. CHALLENGE: After the furnishing procedures, the designer makes a number of tailor-made furniture with multi functionalities by using the remaining materials, putting the ideas of "the best use" into practice.
