| DESIGN NAME: Tee-Saurus English Office Buddy PRIMARY FUNCTION: Stationery INSPIRATION: Working in the office is always not an enjoyable one. It is also frustrating when one goes on leave, on site, on sick leave and there are no updates on it. By turning the complaints into opportunities, the English Office Buddy is a light-hearted way to communicate. By having ten status updates, there is a remainder of 40 pages of blanks sheets to scribble, write, or design customised message just in case the ten statuses did not reflect it. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Tee-Saurus English Office Buddy seeks to make work life less stressful and inject fun through this interactive status updater. Packed with ten reasons in the workplace, they are useful as an information update, a gathering tool as well as updating the mobile numbers in an event of absence or going outdoors. It is interactive where the white boxes available can be written on using a whiteboard marker and easily erased using just a piece of tissue. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This simple Office Buddy is designed to be placed on the table and it acts like a flip chart. Simply flip to the intended message and update it so others would be informed. It's designed to be dual sided so it's easier to know which side is flipped. There are ten updates: VERY BUSY, ON LEAVE, I'M SICK, I'M OUT, WHATEVER, RESERVED, MEETING, CHILL DUDE, BIRTHDAY AND !@#&%*^$. These can be used in context of the status updates. However, if the intended status is not mentioned in the ten, then it can be created via the 40 pages by scribbling, doodling, or sketched via any preferences. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: - SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Black and white print with 40 sheets of blank white paper. 110mm x 210mm TAGS: stationery, design, singapore, designer, office, office buddy, status, status update, blackandwhite, tee-saurus, original RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Most colleagues would always be curious on the status of their office workers. And it is frustrating if they can't be reached, on leave or sick at home. It will be difficult to update every single colleague in the office. The problem has been around for a long time. And probably the best way to communicate is through text messages. But there needs to be something prominent; something visible to all. And the table flip chart is one of the best solutions. Compact and visible to all, it creates an instant update and information to all who needs to have their status, updated to all. CHALLENGE: The most difficult challenge was how to craft them as a whole to make it sound witty and light-hearted but not offensive. It had to look simple and not over designed.
