INSPIRATION: Clay is brought under the limelight and back to life in new forms and combinations as the result of research, expertise, aesthetics, and experimentation. All in all, this new brand combines past and present, offers tactile stories in the form of ceramic and copper work, in which the Byfly shapes inspire symbolic, subtle universes, filled with seduction, where clay is carefully crafted or is interwoven into innovative lines.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The "Lampdoll Light Head" is the ideal company for Adults and Children. With a unique design, it can sit in two different positions. It is a decoration reference for any space.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The "Lampdoll Light Head" can be operated just with your hands! it can be sit in two different positions once that it is bent at the knees.
It is only necessary to hang the legs in to the straight position to place it. then if you prefer to have it sited, you just need to hang the Lampdoll Light Head and sit it at the edge of a bedside table for example.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in February 2015 in Portugal to the present

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The model was made in blaster as well as the moulds. The process to produce the "Lampdoll Light Head" is by using liquid clay into the moulds. After the lamp needs to pass trough other sections like finishing section, glazing section, decal section and packaging section after quality control.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: It was made a extensive research about lamps with specific shapes (animals, figures ). At the same time it was also made a selection of jointed dolls to study deeply how they were join and how they work.
This was the beginning that conduct to the sketch design. Then the mechanisms were applied in ceramic into a way that could be produced. After this the design were finally ready.
CHALLENGE: The hardest part of the entire project was to find the best ceramic methods in which the design could be produced.
