DESIGN NAME: Easyslice Freezer Bag
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Easy to open
INSPIRATION: Traditional plastic roll bags can be hard to use, meanwhile during the using process many problems occur, such as ripping off more than one bag or unable to open the bags as edges stick together. Our design aims these two problems.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Plastic material usually emerges static electricity which makes two sides of the edges stick together. Unlike the design of traditional plastic bag rolls, the cut dots of Easyslice between single bag are not through to the end. When the bag was ripped off by one tear, the irregular edges appear due to the dot-free edge, making the bag easy to be twisted open. Furthermore, at both edges we design unignorable also interesting signs that remind users of the conjunctions.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Easyslice is a freezer bag that can be easily twisted open.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This design started from March in 2016 and ended one month after in China.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: During the production of this bag roll, the dot-cut machine doesn't cut through the whole width, leaving 2.5 cm uncut dot-free area.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: width 250 mm*length 350 mm* thickness 0.007 mm* 100 bags
TAGS: Plastic Bag, Housewife, Fruit, Meat, Fresh
RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We tested the product more than times on its usability to make sure the dot free design wouldn't lead damages to the adjacent bags, we put the dot free area in multiple positions and choose the best result.
Also, we make sure that the strength used to open the bag is tolerant to all ages, from 13 to 60.
CHALLENGE: At first we want to change the way the bag was divided. After researching the forming process, we put our design in more practical ways, minimuming the cost that our design would bring.
