| DESIGN NAME: Teorema 2.0 80 PRIMARY FUNCTION: Wash basin INSPIRATION: Having already in prodcution for years the basins with thin edge, about 10 mm, we wanted to exagerate even on the thickness of the extremely thin and chasing the idea. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Teorema 2.0 is a large-size wash basin with a slim core. The wide bowl offers an appealing and unusual contrast to the light edges, which are only a few millimetres thick. its elegant, sober design reflects the merging of beauty and practicality. Suitable for any type of home environment, its dimensional characteristics make it a highly practical item that can be installed even in homes having a sibngle bathroom. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This is a lay-on basin PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in December 2014 and finished in February 2016 in our plant in Fabrica di Roma. It is going to be presented to Salone del Mobile in April 2016. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: This is a ceramic basin. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 800 mm x 400 mm x 140 mm TAGS: Extremely thin, generous, simple, clean, rigorous RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Having already in prodcution for years the basins with thin edge, about 10 mm, we wanted to exagerate even on the thickness of the extremely thin and chasing the idea. Specialized personnel had to overcome several obstacles, starting from completely different production methods from the preexisting ones. CHALLENGE: being able to keep the distortions fixed typical of the porcelain was a titanic undertaking that costed us a great experimentation and the study of the movements of withdrawals of each piece. all this to get a technically admirable product. NAME: Giovanni Calisti/Scarabeo Ceramiche S.r.l. PROFILE: Giovanni Calisti Giovanni Calisti dedicates himself to art studies and in 1996 gets the qualification of “Maestro d’Arte della Ceramica” (Master of Ceramic Arts). His big passion flew into very appreciated painting and sculpture. He diversifies his activities from creation of artworks to modelling wash basins for a long-established factory in Civita Castellana named ICA. In 1974 he creates SCARABEO, a factory producing exclusively bathroom accessories that makes a name for itself in the European market in few years. In the middle of the nineties he designs different ranges of basins effortlessly. To this day, these ranges are some of the most appreciated of SCARABEO. Always searching for new stimulus, he charts new courses thanks to his clear strategy based on design. Scarabeo Ceramiche S.r.l. SCARABEO, founded in 1974, initially specialised in the manufacture of porcelain bathroom accessories. In the space of a few years, thanks to its reliability and commitment, the company firmly secured its position in both the national and international markets. The high quality of its products enabled the company to collaborate with some of the most renowned international manufacturers of bathroom fixtures. The constant search for new products has always been a distinguishing feature of the company, which – over the years – has consistently proven its ability to keep track of the evolving demands of the market. This continuous evolution eventually led to the introduction of new washbasin ranges, and the company now offers an extremely broad and ever-expanding range of products.
