| DESIGN NAME: PRANA+ PRIMARY FUNCTION: Office Floor Light INSPIRATION: The PRANA+ office floor light was inspired by minimalism and functionality. The idea was to create something that was focused purely on it's function and not distracted by anything else. Everything about the PRANA+ is refined so that the only focus is on the light emitting from the lamp. Prana+ fits seamlessly into an office surrounding not taking away from the space, the desired intent. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The PRANA+ office floor light represents the perfect blend of aesthetical design, high quality lighting and intelligent control technology. With it’s pure shape it refines every working place, and its impressive functionality starts with adaptability. The light itself – is a true source of energy: The light emitted from the PRANA+ changes throughout the day, just as in nature, reflecting a natural biorhythm. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The light is also able to simulate the lighting conditions on different latitudes. The integrated high-tech sensor ensures an energy efficient use of daylight and guarantees that the light only shines when the user is present. The PRANA+ can be controlled via tablet or smartphone and can build a wireless network with other lamps of its type using EnOcean technology. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: - SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Floor Lamp: Width 310 mm x Height 2000 mm x Depth 510 mm Pendant: Width 335 mm x Height 28 mm x Depth 1200 mm TAGS: Lighting Design, Adaptive Base, High Tech Sensor, Extendable Lamphead, Scene Control, Wireless Networking, Natural Biorhythms RESEARCH ABSTRACT: For PRANA+ we started by researching other international companies that provide similar lighting systems. From here we could see the problems that were common with these types of systems and knew what we had to improve on to stand out from other lighting systems currently available. CHALLENGE: We discovered that with this kind of desk light it is generally impossible for it to suit every desk as each desk design is different. We overcame this problem by designing an adjustable foot that allows PRANA+ to move under the side of the desk if needs be. The head is also adjustable, moving in and out. Making it possible for people to direct the light exactly where they need it, previously not a possibility with this style of lighting. PRANA+ is a combination of high end lighting systems with a classic design.
