| DESIGN NAME: Patroa PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lounge Chair and Ottoman INSPIRATION: The biggest challenge was to design a friendly, simple and yet sophisticated product that can fit any contemporary space. Even though it is made from metal and foam, its structure is clean and light. The funny thing about ir is the name, in a free translation from portuguese Patroa is a house wife, the owner of the house, the boss, and thats the ideia behind it. This chair owns the place. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Patroa, is a comfort and sophisticated Lounge chair and ottoman developed to be both conceptual and commercial. Was used a metal calender method to bring this design to life, and we finished with a high quality polyester painting. In other hand the mixture between leather and metal is perfect, and for it was used a molded foam as base for the leather finish. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: - PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project stared in June 2015, at Natal and finished in December 2015 at Minas Gerais. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Furniture Design |

NAME: MULA PRETA PROFILE: Mula Preta is a product design studio based in Natal/Brazil. It was founded in 2012 by the architect Felipe Bezerra and the designer André Gurgel. The name is inspired on a famous song that represents Brazilian Northeast’s culture, one of the keys of their design expressions. They were invited to participate in exhibitions in China, Paris and Milan, where were rewarded several awards. |
