DESIGN NAME: Radisson BLU Leogrand Hotel
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Hotel
INSPIRATION: The motto of the new branding "Iconic, Stylish, Sophisticated"was the main inspiration of our design process. All implements that are coming in to existence in our design were carefully refined according to this motto.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: A renovation and restoration project of an existing hotel building with a 16.000 sqm of closed area in a total of 8 storey. The main design criteria was to integrate the new corporate identity while preserving the existing building characteristics and elements that are embedded in previously hosted user's memory. The designed areas in the property are 143 rooms and suites, 3 restaurants, a pub, wine shop, spa-fitness & beauty center, 6 meeting rooms and a convention center.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: An existing property that has been used as a hotel by a well known local brand transformed and combined with a global brand. Through out the design phase the key frame were the embedded memories hidden in contemporary approach.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in January 2014 in Ankara Turkey and finished in December 2015 in Chisinau Moldova. The time period consists of both the design phase and on site consulting.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Not only all elements and materials that are designed and selected meets the relevant standards, but also the durability of the over all design details taken into consideration for the economical life span of the property for its investor. As an example; from the point of lighting design our main criteria is to use LED technology for the feasibility but at the same time color rendering index issues are strongly stressed through out the project.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: As a renovation and restoration project that has to be adapted to its new branding's corporate specs with in the needs of the investor; the physical conditions and as built data of the building has to be studied accordingly. Total renovation of the electrical and mechanical infrastructure was a plus to coordinate and superpose the systems due to our design process.
CHALLENGE: As the hotels new branding is the first global brand taking place in Moldova; our challenge was to full fill the needs and the expectations of our client and the branding company trough out the whole design and consultancy process.
