RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Two legendary actors of lollywood inspired project La’Hore. “La’Hore” is a Punjabi word meaning “Get more” mostly denoted in terms of food. Using this term for my project is to signify the rich culture of city Lahore and amalgamating it with 60s era will be a treat to watch. Since this project displays the history in terms of Culture, fashion, social behaviors a lot of visual research has been done to come up with the final idea and visual style. Examining the actual actors, their way of talking, styles, old movies the characters started to develop. The prime challenge was to develop the characters personalities, as they should have the resemblance from the actual actors in order to get the people of that period emotionally involved, yet make them stylized and appealing for younger generation. Keeping a close eye on the dress, hairstyles to make it more retro the characters are finalized. Backgrounds are stimulated from the Walled city and the Japanese garden of Lahore. The backgrounds are made equally stylized to compliment the characters. On the whole it’s a project, which is targeting a massive audience with different age groups and could be developed as an animated short film in future.
CHALLENGE: Developing the characters personality inspired from the actual actors was the biggest challenge. The essential target was to make sure the characters resembles the actors yet make them stylized and appealing for the younger audience. Considering the fact that modeling in 3D is difficult and a lot of times it ended up modeling a completely different personality especially for the Male character.
