| DESIGN NAME: Ultraspeed Line PRIMARY FUNCTION: Drilling and routing machine INSPIRATION: The Acid Gold ring that frames the frontal panel of the new machines is a statement of Posalux’s promise to its clients. It emphatizes that Posalux’s commitnent to provide quality after-sale services. The S line represent a Crest which is the point of highest value in a wave. This graceful rising curve in the frontal view of the machines highlights the ever increasing value provided by Posalux machines, expanding on the concept of a wave of light found in Latin in the name of the company. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The acid-golden ring is the main design subject and visually underlines the engagement between Posalux and its clients. An acid-golden curved line creates movement on the frontal polycarbonate, it is a design element to remove any sense of oppressiveness towards the users and co-workers. The parenthesis concept helps to universalize parts and facilitate the logistics of every Posalux product; the sides are the same for every machines and they are mounted on di fferent lengths structures. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The interaction between the machine and the user takes place through a control panel placed on the front of the machine, and the machine operations are safe thanks to the automatic frontal openings, without handles. Posalux machines produces computer, tablets and smartphone parts all over the world. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started and finished in 2015 in Biel/Bienne (Switzerland), and in the same year was exhibited in Milan to the EMO and in Munich to Productronica. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Ultraspeed line have a great finish: - a bent black and white metal sheet with a fine texture for the body - a curved polycarbonate silkscreened black and white for the main user interface SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Ultraspeed line kicks off the next generation series of drilling and routing machines. It’s the fastest Drilling and Routing system in the market. Thanks to its performances and flexibility it can reach a vast range of markets, from aerospace to PCB passing thru automotive, medical and many others. The production of high volumes of machine, with frequent human interaction and special ergonomic needs, in a very different type of companies and climas worldwide, safety constraints, footprint reduction, all the marketing requests and aesthetics needs are just a few aspects that, today, play indispensable role in this industry. CHALLENGE: The aim of the project was to create a new kind of machine which could overcome the old design of industrial machinery but using the same production processes. Processes based on bending, cutting and welding of metal sheet and polycarbonate. Sardi Innovation demonstrated how the use of molds is not necessary to create an innovative, ergonomic and aesthetic design.
