PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Hand tools

INSPIRATION:
When I screwed a rusty screw, I felt very difficult and hand hurt. I want to solve this problem. Our purpose is to obtain the maximum benefit with the minimum cost.Reform product with little change, allowing users to benefit. Achieve the purpose of saving labor by the product's modelling. Through to the product present situation analysis and to its goal user's investigation and study, the research team discovered the promotion user operation experience and the operating efficiency are the entire research project core subjects.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
There's a hole in the handle. When you need to spend a lot of effort to operate, you can put another screwdriver or sticks through its hole, to form a cross. According to the lever principle, it can save user's labor. For example, please hold the vertical screwdriver with your right hand, you will find that it is easy to loosen a screw when moving your left hand which holding the horizontal screwdriver. Handle is made of high-strength plastic, which provides a good grip feeling.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Although it is small, PLUS provides an ergonomic solution to its users . It is strong, compact and lightweight, it is a great tool for taking any place along with. As long as the other tool get inserted into the hole, your screwdriver will have a handle. Gently rotate, the task can be completed. A user can hold the vertical screwdriver with his right hand, and hold the horizontal screwdriver with the left hand, he will find that it is easy to loosen a screw while moving the left hand.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project was designed in July 2015 in Hangzhou, China.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
We use two kinds of plastic, the yellow part is high-strength plastic, and the black part is ABS engineering plastics. Two kinds of material brings different friction, which can makes you feel the exact location of handle.We use injection-molding technique to ensure that there is no joint. The ring is made of a metal, in order to increase the strength and rigidity.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
Its dimensions is 235mm*29mm*29mm. The yellow part is made of high-strength plastic, and the black part is ABS engineering plastics.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
The key aspects involved first identifying the problem, finding a solution and analyzing existing options to determine if there was viability. Then the market research was conducted; since the main objective is creating more durable, compact, lightweight and elegant product compared to the ones existing on the market. During the industrial design process, extensive research was done to determine the best materials for the product.

CHALLENGE:
The biggest obstacle during the process is, the handle must have very high intensity, when it has a hole at the same time. It had to be achieved in a cost-effective manner. We use a metal ring to solve the problem.Handle is made of high-strength plastic, which provides a good grip feeling, and the friction will be controlled within an appropriate range.

Solving this problem is beneficial to open manufacturers'mind, and they can obtain larger gains from little changes. The ingenious design of more environmental protection and conservation to avoid complicated shape.
