DESIGN NAME:
DOMM
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Corporate Design
INSPIRATION:
The pictograms are the same height so that they can be easily combined for all formats. The sign is based on our clients interesting idea of combining the Milanese emblem and the Swiss cross as they have similar features.
The self-constructed, modern lettering DOMM is accompanied by the classic text font Bodoni from the north Italian font designer Giambattista Bodoni.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
DOMM is a restaurant in Zurich that offers traditional cuisine from northern Italy. Our client asked for a modern visual image that referenced traditional aspects. We created a pictogram system which incorporates not only the cuisine of northern Italy, but also classic designs and objects from the worlds of fashion, sports, and architecture. The art design style of the past century was the basis of the pictograms strict geometrical patterns which were designed using only a few elements.

The project started in Zurich in March 2014 and finished in September 2014.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
We used digital print on the recycling paper "popset storm".
For the Food Menu we used silk-screen printing.
