The concept is to create unique shaped bicycle with the help of technological advancement. I aim to break the wall of clasical approach to bycycle shapes by looking beyond funtionality to create inspirational experience and style.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Bitube project wants to catch to people attention which usually are not bicycle users. Therefore we created this eccentric unique shaped which relies on two longitudinal advance carbon fiber tubes for its structural strength. Special steering mechanism both responsible for easy maneuverability and proper transfer of the load. Single connection line from seat to structural tubes and pedals.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Sport cars' curves and strong statement has my mind during early stage of design as well as we move on to details. Structural components are consist of carbon fiber tubes and aluminum connection parts together with stainless steel accessories.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
Initial concept was in my mind for several years but actual drawing process started first day of 2016 in Istanbul.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Lack of clasical structural bicycle shape requires advance carbon fiber tube to be effectively strong. Two longitudinal tubes connects on 4 points to maintain structural integrity. There are ball bearings each plane of the steering connection on the longitudinal tubes' connection part on steeering point, therefore even without uniform load occurrence steering can be easily functional. Disk brakes are used to support stylish appearance.

Since I looked beyond the functinality of bicycle in order to create unseen shape of structure I initially focused on finding to eye catching appearance. I research other mobility vehicles such as sport cars and motorcycles instead of searching what is missing on bicycles which I eventually came across as a conclusion.
The most important challange was without comprimising functionality creating unique shape and solving mechanical mechanisms.
