DESIGN NAME: Dazzling Café
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Restaurant, Café
INSPIRATION: Dazzling Café’s design concept comes from the famous fairy tale <<Alice in the Wonderland>>. Designers believe that eating experiences can be funny. Therefore, a dreamland background is built to help customers to get the feeling of eating in the Wonderland as if they were the character Alice.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Blue & white are the main color code of the color design which matches to Alice’s costume. Mr.Rabbit plays an important role in the fairy tale and this character is deliberately apply to the design. For instance, rabbit ears chairs are designed to let customers imagine Mr. Rabbit is nearby when they are having meal.Moreover, tablecloths, displays and floor use different colors code to enhance the joyful atmosphere. Outside the VIP room a blue-white colored curtain is hanged to define the room.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The restaurant design has been divided into an indoor and outdoor setting. The outdoor spatial area, French streets open-air tea stands, is a prelude to lift up the fairyland to enter the dreamland. The indoor is the eating experiences zone.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Young ladies are the major customers of Dazzling Café, therefore, a lively and illusion atmospheres are developed. This concept hopefully can satisfy the young ladie s’ visual experience and illusion characteristics.
CHALLENGE: Designers believe diners not only request delicious food, but also eating experiences. Experiences refer to environment, atmosphere, services and talking points. On the whole, this project can fully express designers’ outrageous thinking as well as defining the restaurant’s market positioning.
