The idea of designing a pot shaped box was derived from the product itself. Houseplant concept was ideally suited to flower scented tissues. Seeds were added to cover because the box was designed not only to be nature-friendly but also to be a part of nature. The aim is to raise environmental awareness and open a road for more green space.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Potiss is an eco-friendly and unique tissue paper box design. Flower scented tissues differing per variants were presented in a pot shaped box. Potiss was designed to be also a stylish table accessory with its appealing look. Seeds were added to papier-mache of the cover. Thus, the box can be buried in the ground and trees can be grown.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Potiss is a paper tissue box. Consumers can also use Potiss as a decorative object in their homes or offices. Cover of the box should be buried in the ground to grow flowers.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in September 2015 in Istanbul/Turkey and finished in November 2015 in Istanbul/Turkey.

Material is 350 g paper. The box can be produced in printing house, but seeds should be added to papier-mache manually.

Online research was conducted for the project. A lot of examples related to tissue box packaging and different box designs were collected and examined. Latest trends in box design and marketing, good and bad design examples, shortcomings of the category were all noted. Thus, the design process was started with a detailed knowledge of the competitors and category.
The main challenge of the project was to design a package which can differentiate in tissue papers category and become popular. All needs of the project were satisfied with a stylish box design which has unique features.
