| DESIGN NAME: aiFi Stackable Speakers PRIMARY FUNCTION: Smart Stackable Speaker INSPIRATION: As music lovers we believe that music should be shared in a easy way and if possible wherever you are. By creating a sturdy, well designed speaker that can be used outdoors as well as indoors with the same high sound quality we could make this possible. Introducing the fact that you can increase both the sound quality and volume by just stacking speakers together like Legos would be a fantastic solution. A truly social speaker that works great alone and even better together. That is aiFi®. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: aiFi® is the speaker with the unique stackability. One single unit is enough to fill your room with excellent sound – stack aiFi®s together and it gets even louder and better. aiFi®, artificial intelligence Fidelity, is a high performance portable Bluetooth speaker and is the first truly intelligent modular speaker system, which can be built with several units just like Lego. With no given limitation you can stack the units together in any configuration you can. Great Alone. Better Together. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: aiFi® is easy to use with your mobile phone or tablet. Just connect with Bluetooth, analogue Line-in or with S/PDIF optical input. There are no cables, no settings – just stack them on top, or beside each other, and experience the magic. As aiFi® offers true modularity and scalable sound, it does the job all the way from bed side to the party. Three stacked aiFi® easily makes a Soundbar for your TV. And a Six-Stack is perfect for a party on your patio. Bring your aiFi® wherever you go – indoors and outdoors. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Inspired by the light and ruggedness in the Scandinavian landscape both the colors and materials are chosen with utmost consideration. The grey, silver and black colors fits well both indoors in the finer spaces as well as outdoors in the snow or forrest. Aluminum and steel are the two main materials the user will see and feel. You instantly just by looking and feeling an aiFi® speaker that it is a sturdy peace of equipment made to enjoy outdoors. It also fits great in every type of room in the house. No lables or big brand logos destroys the elegance of the aiFi®. The functionality of each aiFi® is based on artificial intelligence. The communication between each unit uses Sound Dimensions own WaveDot (TM) technology which means no cables, no settings and no hassle. Just grab and go, stack and show! Great Alone. Better Together. The use of 3D-printing has been a very important tool. Early stage function testing was made with plexiglass prototypes. Step-by-step both functionality and design has evolved together. CHALLENGE: The initial design idea had two main objectives: to be stylish enough to fit in a living room yet Rugged enough to invite the user to just Grab and Go. We found the mix between steel from Värmland in Sweden and cast aluminum to be an intriguing mix of materials.
