| DESIGN NAME: Flov PRIMARY FUNCTION: Recycling Bathroom Complex INSPIRATION: Flov is a bathroom complex which is designed by inspiring from flowers in the nature which renew repeatedly and eternally. Beside renewal, Flov has an esthetic and modern appearence with its colors, cubic but smooth corners and futuristic design. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Today the biggest reflection of global warming is water resources extinction.Against it Flov is designed for reducing water consumption.It achieves the purpose by filter and recycling bin inside washbasin and the cycle between toilet cleaning and personal hygiene by stored water.Flov is respectful to nature.Flov is a product which digitally shows users limit of daily water consumption,instant water consumption and ratio of waste water filtered. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Flov is a complex which provides toilet cleaning and personal hygiene via bidet nozzle by recycling wasted city water.After being used in the washbasin,city water is filtered in the inner carbon filter and stored in the main recycle bin.This stored water is used for cleaning the closet and personal hygiene by using bidet nozzle.Therefore,use PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: We started this project in April 2015 and completed in February 2016 in Istanbul Turkey. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The main body is produced from durable,hygienic,ren SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: W:700 x D:1060 x H:830 mm Coverage area of FLOV on the floor: 0,6 square meters TAGS: Recycle, nature, modern, technology, ergonomy, minimal, innovative RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We came up with the idea of protecting water if we want to protect our natural resources which are faceing extinction.We believe the first step for this is getting savings in our own personal lives.The main issue is how we manage to reuse wasted water with a single cycle for another reason in our homes.By combining closet and washbasin,reuse of wasted water before it leaves bathroom is the solution.We achieved 12-15 liters water savings by this. CHALLENGE: We wanted to create full closed cycle which recycles all human's physical wastes,urine and stools.In this way the module was never going to use natural spring water.Yet,we faced a problem that it isn't possible to create this recycling system in such small volume.Also it would have cost too much with today's technology.So we created Flov which is fed by city water.It filters wasted water from washbasin and uses it to clean closet and provides personal hygiene.As a result we managed water saving.
