Ferrano BlendExpress BE51
Considerations of form led to the adoption of higher-quality moulds for the body. The resulting design features smooth surfaces and round, elegant curves with a slim profile to comfortably fit in cozy kitchens.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Ferrano's design approach for this compact personal blender reflects the brand's three pillars of function, form and heritage.
In the realm of function, a pulse mode extends the machine's range, while suction cup feet provide stability and reduce vibration. The smooth surfaces of the BlendExpress make it not just attractive, but also easy to wipe down after use.
The interplay of function, form and heritage culminated in a BlendExpress design shaped by consumer considerations.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Indulge your imagination by blending your own array of ingredients. One bottle takes you straight from blending to drinking. Bring your morning pick-me-up drink out the door, enjoy a pre- or post-workout protein shake, or savour a nutritious fruit smoothie. Each member of the family can blend using their own bottle. The BlendExpress makes it quick, easy and fun.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
This project was started in March 2014 and entered production around August 2015. The project was developed as a collaborative project between the Ferrano office in Singapore and our design supplier and production partner in China.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
In a nod to heritage, Ferrano avoided using coloured plastic that is sadly ubiquitous in today’s household appliances. Instead, we opted for a classic painted finish using high-quality gloss paint. Rounding out our focus on design are the accessories that come with the BlendExpress.

The personal blender market is already quite full with competitors. So the challenge with this project was to come up with a product that elevated the quality and feel while still being able to compete on price points.
