| DESIGN NAME: Colorfall PRIMARY FUNCTION: Necklace INSPIRATION: Colorfall necklace is Inspired by women’s shawl, elegant forms and colors of peacock. To achieve this, a very precise deformation of curves and swirls is applied, considering the best look of the design on a women body. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Inspired by women’s shawl, elegant forms and colors of peacock, this design tries to make the impression of beauty, dignity and pride as well as fluidity and free style of shawl. To achieve this, a very precise deformation of curves and swirls is applied, considering the best look of the design on a women body. The gemstones arrangement was done through a series of try and error process to reach the best result which is clearly shown on this design. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: A spectacular necklace inspired by shawls worn together with prom or evening dresses. It is a couture piece which reflects the status of its unique owner. It is flexible and cascades over women neck area towards the back. It is best worn together with strapless or sweat heart necklines. Overall the aim is to create a unique piece and an exclusive fashion statement. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The design process of this concept took around 3 months starting by several sketches to making the virtual prototypes and finally reaching the current design. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The necklace is made from 18K white gold in white diamonds, precious and semi precious stones. The 3d model was created using a MATRIX. The model is then 3D printed in wax in several pieces. The wax model is casted in gold by lost wax method and parts are welded and soldered together. Some parts of the piece are handmade. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Necklace 700 g, total stones 2100 pcs. Dimensions: 200mm x 180 mm x 320 mm. TAGS: Necklace, Couture, Sparkling, Unique, Gold, Jewelry, Fashion, Luxury, Diamonds, Colored Precious stones, Handmade RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Numerous studies were done on different shawl styles used together with evening gowns and on shapes, curls, and colors of peacock and best ways to show the beauty of peacock feather to find a way to interpret it in a high jewelry. CHALLENGE: According to the concept of the design, it was tried to create a form which was an abstract interpretation of peacock aesthetic attributes and the free style of shawl. So, the biggest challenge for this concept was the arrangement of the stones to make the best possible effect and as there were lots of colors included in this design, it was very hard to arrange them in a way to enhance one another beauty, color and reflection while having the best possible composition of colors and forms in 3d. Next was to make the necklace comfortable and wearable, despite being made of several small and sophisticated parts to be manufactured easier.
