| DESIGN NAME: Baggy Lamp PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lamp INSPIRATION: The idea of design inspired from old bags that are closed with rope at the top. The power cord is designed and attached at the top of the lamp so that it resembles bag that is closed at the top and on the other hand it has its own function to provide electricity for lighting. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: “Baggy Lamp” is a serie of an accessory lamp concept for a modern and loft styled interiors with the shape of bag. The idea behind the concept is to combine old style with new modern design. Design inspired from old bags that are closed with rope at the top. The power cord is designed and attached at the top of the lamp so that it resembles bag that is closed at the top and on the other hand it has its own function to provide electricity for lighting. Frosted glass material gives it an elegant and architectural look that goes with modern loft interiors. Changing bulb is just simple since the lower part of the lamp is empty. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Either it is turned on or off it has an elegant and architectural look that goes with modern loft interiors. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The main shape is made of frosted glass/plastic material and gives it an elegant and architectural look that goes with modern loft interiors. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The dimensions of diameter and height of the shape are 20cm x 30cm respectively. TAGS: lamp, bag, cord, baggy, lighting, light, illumination, decoration RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Power cord is one of the main parts of lamps and generally it is unwanted and designers try to hide it. I thought of a concept where i can show it designedly and made a research and i came up with bag concept. Old bags are closed with a rope at the top and i used this option and showed power cord as a rope. Final product looks like a bag and power cord is shown bravely and not hided.
