| DESIGN NAME: Smartisan T2 PRIMARY FUNCTION: Mobile Phone INSPIRATION: The mobile phone market is flooded with unthoughtful product which driven barely by functionality and specs of various components. Smartisan T2 takes the other direction, starts from design and user experience. Unlike other smart phones made from metal, Smartisan T2 has an all-metal frame without any plastic seams around the body. The whole exterior is composed purely of metal and glass in a singular form, while the body has only two essential construction seams. And the SIM card slot is hidden under the volume keys for an even greater cohesiveness. With clean, meticulous details in every aspect, Smartisan T2 achieves the ultimate minimal but efficient archetype. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The exterior of Smartisan T2 is composed purely of metal and glass in a singular form, while the body has only two essential construction seams. Nothing like other metal-bodied phones, T2’s metal frame is totally seamless, which, apart from visual cohesion, has better structural strength. T2 integrates the Power switch into the Home key for an even more natural and effortless usability. The SIM card slot is hidden under the volume keys for an even greater cohesiveness. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: After 588 days of intensive research, the Smartisan T2 team finally solved an infamous smartphone engineering challenge. By eliminating the four plastic/metal seams in the metal frame, we have redefined what it means to have an “all-metal” frame.
