DESIGN NAME: Bedtime Story 2
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Creative Photography
INSPIRATION: Original concept inspired by photographer's dreamy vision. Being him a huge fan of kids (for their endless and genuine creativity) and animals (for their natural beauty) the author envisioned a colorful relationship between a little girl and a beautiful bird.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Personal project developing two visionary scenes as pictured in the mind of photographer then bringing them up to real scenes, lighting subjects accordingly with original vision and working real things in order to create final photographs. Focused on lighting tools for professionals this project is about photographer's vision and how he creates dreamy images working with real assets and talents through high refined lighting techniques and state of the art photography.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Beyond the artistic expression of the author, this photography project shows how to effectively use lighting equipment like modifiers and grids in order to accurately control and shape soft light
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: After preproduction planning and overall project design, the shooting work took a single day on set in Vicenza-Italy and post processing followed shortly after.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: All pictures have been shot on Hasselblad digital medium format camera. On the first scene (main picture) a total of 6 lights have been used simultaneously to achieve the desired image look. On the second scene called the nightly dialogue, 5 lights worked the lighting design. Overall image look has been created mainly in camera using accurate light control tools like fabric grids and softboxes.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: -
CHALLENGE: The most challenging part of the project has been dealing with a real bird since also well trained animals have very limited availability in posing and being directed. So coaching the models have been a big work. However having a real bird on set has been a precise photographer's choice in order to preserve that semi-real feeling he was after.
