| DESIGN NAME: Macoware Head Office PRIMARY FUNCTION: Office INSPIRATION: One of the main requests from the client is to enhance the spatial quality and working environment for their staff. Not only, the design made improvements on the existing office layout, it took the advantage of large window areas, and enhances the level of natural light to penetrate through the rooms and into the office area. The office area is designed with an open plan layout to allow flexibility of space and encourage interaction between the staffs. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The office is located in an industrial building that mainly used to be warehouse which is build in 1970’s in Hong Kong. A family runs OEM manufacturing company for over 30 years owns the premise. They are specializing in security products and door accessories and seeking to rejuvenate the space with a new identity for the company. Daydreamers Design transformed the 30+ years old industrial office into a contemporary office and rebrands the identity of the company. The design team took a different approach to typical office design. They enlighten the characteristic and the spatial experience of a traditional Hong Kong industrial building that at the same time matches with the job nature of the business. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: - PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project concept discussion started in April 2015, and construction took place from September 2015 to November 2015. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Every piece of furniture in the new office is specially designed to fulfill individual habits and requirements. The careful selection of material has also play a major role in the design. The application of copper tubes, OSB boards, galvanized steel, black metal sheets, and black meshes inject contemporary elements into this very industrial context.
