RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Wood expandable structure tests, drawing,CAD 3D design trials, 3D printed wax tests and casting assemble, silver structure and movement tests, catch-locks stabilising experiments, sizing and resizing for catch-lock and structure.
CHALLENGE: Artistically, the most difficult part was truly capturing the essence of this romantic story, 'Cross of fate'. The key element to shape creation. Technically, the most challenging part was the trial period of making the structure and the movement to work in a secure way. We tried, spring, and presure rubber and eventually the catch lock is the most functional and durable method.
