| DESIGN NAME: MeggNote PRIMARY FUNCTION: Reminder INSPIRATION: This design is inspired by the look of a fried egg, which has a cute, familiar, beautiful and delicious shape. The Idea was to detach the yellow and the white part and design a post-it set (magnet and papers) for kitchen, so users can write their reminder notes or grocery shopping lists on it and post it on a very visible place like the fridge door. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: MeggNote is a set of note-papers and a magnet for posting notes on fridge or any other ferrous/magnetic surfaces like whiteboards, PC cases, etc. It includes 60 memo papers and a yellow magnet. The magnet is made of wood, formed by CNC and has been coated with 7 layers of paint to look like a beautiful natural egg yellow. When the user posts a note, he/she makes a fried egg on the fridge! Refill papers also are available in shops, so customers can buy another 60-pages memo pack if they run out of papers. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: A regular posted note on the fridge door or other places in the apartment can be a distracting element in the overall interior design. When user posts a note with MeggNote, not only it is not distracting but also it makes an attractive harmonic element in the kitchen space and specially on the fridge door. When you post a not, you actually make a fried egg in no time! Bon appetite! PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was started on December 2014 and finished in about 2 months. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Magnet piece is made of 15 millimeters TK. plywood shaped by CNC and is coated with 7 layers of hand applied paint to look like a beautiful natural egg yellow. Note papers are made of 160 grams printing paper sheet and are cut by die-cut. Cut papers are attached together from a straight edge -design for this purpose- by a proper glue so user can easily detach one when he/she needs to post a paper. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The package size is 15 cm * 19 cm * 2.7 cm and is made of printed 300 grams cardboard sheet plus a P.P. transparent cover. TAGS: Magnet, Creative, Fried Egg, Reminder, Post it, Roohollah Merrikhpour RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Research was mainly about the production phase, things like choosing the right material, the right production method and the right finishing. CHALLENGE: The main challenge was to reach a nice look for the egg yellow to look just like a real one. We could use injection molded plastic with a special coating but according to our policy about using greener materials and using local human labor, the challenge was to find a multi layer coating which is applicable by airbrush Manually.
