| DESIGN NAME: DOUBLE PRIMARY FUNCTION: Ring INSPIRATION: Design is inspired to a primitiv flint weapons. Each jewel is original with rough and finely polished surface together. The stile is aggressive and refined right for women of strong character.Each stone suggests to me a new shape without never losing its primordial matrix during a creative process of transformation, based on a deep respect for its natural material. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: These are stone sculptures to wear so that art may be present every moment and everywhere, even outside the museum or galery. Every sculpture is original and inspired by primitiv art. The collection is called Divinae and is dedicated to the stars of hollywood Audrey Hepburn, Ingrid Bergman, Marilyn Monroe, Sofia Loren etc ..This ring Double is inspired by Brigitte Bardot The ring is a part of colletion of small wearable sculptures, finely finished and polished stone fragments that become unique and unrepeatable jewels OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: It seems strange but the ring is very comfortable to wear - look video link. It is no more heavy than another rings of great dimensions. It can be used every day. It's great but it isn't heavy. It is resistent , too if used in normal condition ( if you drop it to the groun it may break.) PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Each piece of jewelry need more then four hours to be made. First I cut a marble, then I make a whole and then I proceed sculpture the form of a ring.I finish with polishing of surface. Typically the stone is subjected to a previously established plan, defined on paper or a preparatory sketch. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Black marble of Belgium SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 40 x44x14 TAGS: Black marble, ring, jewelry, art, sculpture, abstract, design RESEARCH ABSTRACT: I used black marble because it is more elegant than white , ( in this case) especially if it's smooth. The contrast between the deep black and lighter colour of the skin makes an particular effect. CHALLENGE: It is difficult to produce black marble sculptures.
