Research for this project was based on round-backed armchair.Chinese round-backed armchair was in the early Ming dynasty.Chinese round-backed armchair was representative of identity status.I consulted human factors engineering and did many tests and prototypes for data collection.I used the data to reform the traditional round-backed armchair.Include the arm of the chair and the seat back of the chair and the curve of the seat back, all those dimensions were for a final goal, to create a modern and comfortable chair.

CHALLENGE:
The main challenges were the structure and the form of the chair. In order to achieve the strength of cantilevered arm, used traditional construction methods with two tenons.By kept adjusting let each curve and surface to fit.
