| DESIGN NAME: Naxe PRIMARY FUNCTION: Axe INSPIRATION: Inspired by the multi purpose tools that operates on different levels of cutting such as metal, wood, ropes etc., Naxe is designed to provide a rugged yet precision alternative for users. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Naxe is a professional axe for search and rescue teams that need sturdy and stable tools for maximized performance. The design of the axe helps to distribute the force evenly without vibration and provides enhanced shear force for cutting. Using high tech materials, Naxe is lightweight and enables an efficient grip and strike with its curved handle. Offered with sheath and leash with various color options, the tool is suitable for manual utility tasks as well. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The blade is interchangeable and a substitute is nested within the handle. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Ankara |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The main body is comprised of carbon steel whereas the handle is made of lightweight carbon fiber material. Soft touch plastics is used in the handle grip with various color options. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: - TAGS: axe, axe design, hand tool RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The insights collected from emergency teams that use hardware tools were used in the design ideation process to create an effective tool design. CHALLENGE: Main challenge was to create an intuitive tool that has a natural feel as an extension of the arm.
