Our inspiration came from traditional, plastic potato bags which are known as reliable carrier.
We wondered - what can we do to make them attractive and how can we inncoporate them in everyday fashion? People trust their endurance but black frame gave them contemporary function and we got a good juncture of tradition and modern design.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
We wanted to make a simple bag, with purified and modern lines.
Design began with a framework that reminds us of the house/home and therefore gives warmth to a form. We added just one more element to our skeleton, a bag which is used to carry potatoes/cabbage/apples. Colors have changed everything. By carefully choosing colors we added life to our house, to the item you carry in your hand.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Emotionally people easily connect to Vrecha because it has nostalgic point and durability gives her additional value in practical use. Transparency on the bag or as we call the walking frame can give you impression that you are wearing a piece of art in your hand out on the street, in a store... all you need is to add the subject to it and it becomes an exhibition (like LP, which immediately gets its frame and becomes something more).

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
For the frame we used high indurance polypropilen fibre straps which are fire and waterproof.
The corpus is a polyester mash made for carryng up to 25kg of vegetables. Color of mash depends of the vegetables you want to carry in (red is for potatoes, orange for apples etc.).
The measures of Vrecha are 40 x 45 cm, and the handle length is 60 cm which we consider to be the perfect dimensions for practical everyday use.

We live in area which is known for potato farms so mash bags are everywhere - people see them so often they don’t even notice them. They are durable and cheap material, and most important we can get them any time, any where. With design twist we made them atractive to young people. They think of Vrecha as a fun but also nostalgic product which connects them to home and childhod. Practical side is that Vrecha can carry a lot and for years and it has affordable final price.
Production of Vrecha is very easy and fast - it takes up to 15min. to cut out materials and sew them together. The biggest problem we were facing was if people would ask them selves why should they wear potato sacks? But that became our best selling point since it turned out that this fact made Vrecha fun and nostalgic object most people can relate to. And also potato mashs primary function gave endurance credibility to the whole story.
