| DESIGN NAME: Migo 1+1 Food Box PRIMARY FUNCTION: Carrying & storing food container INSPIRATION: The hybrid food container provides an adaptable solution for food carrying and storing. It is allowed for sudden cold and hot water and food. Hybrid double wall is designed to protect inner glass container and meet multifunctional requirement. Hybrid double wall design, insulated and multi- usage. Silicone foot pad for heat insulation. The unique silicone vent, effectively avoid cover closed after microwaving or in cold evironment. Accessories of personality to the finger lock. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: It is functional, safe and light while on-the-go or at home food container with supporting the whole family carrying and storing their food, without the weight or risk of breaking usually associated with glass containers. The light weight glass container can be put inside the plastic container and be carried safely, and can be used separately at home. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The Hybrid food container is an innovative design, which gives the user the purity of glass, for carrying and storing their food, without the weight or risk of breaking usually associated with glass containers. The light weight glass container can be put inside the plastic container and be carried safely and with confidence. Outer plastic container protects inner glass container and also achieve insulation result. Silicon vent on lid is helping air release after microwaving or in cold evironment. Silicon foot pad could be a protecter of glass container when it's placed in the plastic container, also be a top cover for the glass container, as it's placed seperately in refrigerator as a storing container. The plastic outer container could be also as a storing box seperately. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in May 2014 and finished in June 2015, was attended IF in 2015 |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Heat insulated glass, has high temperature tolerence, up to 400 centigrade degree. High blast temperature up to 150 centigrade degree .It will not break for sudden cold and hot water or food. The unique silicone vent, effectively avoid cover closed. Outer sealing lid is 100% leak-proof. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 400ml with color box ( H 105*D 125*L132mm) , 600ml with color box (H 78* D 125* L 132mm), with one plastic, plus one glass conatiner into one set TAGS: Multifunctional, Hybrid Glass, Container, Food, Beverage RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We did a cusumer research about the key features for "on the go" food container solution. Asia consumers prefer bringing lunch made by theirselves and they consider glass as a healthier material for food than plastic. But plastic is lighter than other material to bring outside. In Asian cities, everywhere is crowded, such as in subway, in bus, not everyone drives car out. To bring something outside on the way, better lighter than expected, otherwise the consumers won't take the container out. Regarding food storing, after long time use, the food with oil will make the plastic container difficult to clean. In oppsite, glass doesn't have this problem. The idea of the hybrid structure combined with plastic and glass came out to us. Choose the light glass type -borosilicate glass, and durable plastic material PP, in hybrid double wall structure to achieve final multi-use result. CHALLENGE: During design and structure improvement, the leak-proof feature is challenging for keep either cold or hot, solid and liquid food inside the container. And also the glass tolerance is difficult to control. So the silicon foot pad helps solving the problem.
