INSPIRATION:
Forever inspired by nature, history, art, literature, philosophy and culture, celebrated New York designer Christopher Ross sees the animal form as a new source of empowerment.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The unique property is the distinguished designer's passion and eye for beauty and aesthetics to start with. Featuring his trademark Bohemian glass eye, these original, large scale, true works of art were sculpted by Mr. Ross himself. The limited edition luxury belts are stamped not only with his name, date, number and copyright but also with his signature thumbprint and are ergonomically designed in such a way it would fit the female form perfectly.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Designed as a form of armor jewelry for the free spirited female, each piece is ergonomically designed in such a way it would fit the female form perfectly. Each highly detailed sculpted belt is a timeless classic with the ability to transform any outfit, to bring it alive again and to identify and glorify the individual.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
Limited edition realized in New York City and exhibited at Fendi's Design Miami/ Limited Edition Experiences event during Art Basel Miami in December 2009. Further exhibitions at Vendome Luxury show in Paris, France; Beretta Gallery in New York City and Chisholm Gallery in Palm Beach County, Florida, 2015. Some of the pieces were seen on Sex and the City, showcased in Rachel Roy's digital AW 2013-14 runway show and subsequently broadcast on WSJ Live and ABC News in 2015.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The animal-themed belt sculptures are characteristic examples of the work he produced. Known as the master of the curve, the original design concept was imagined, developed and sculpted by Christopher Ross himself. Hand cast in silver from the clay original each piece is polished by the master artisan and finished in matte antique sterling silver or 24-karat gold of superb quality.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
The distinctive designs were already envisioned by Christopher Ross before he even started, intuitively sculpted by himself without any use of images. The statement pieces feature a unique, armor-like design and empowers the feminine physique through its pure luxury and drama. The sustainable concept of the luxury belts is to last a lifetime and further usage as wearable objets d'art for future generations.

CHALLENGE:

Specializing in sculptural belts, Mr. Ross’s creations traverse the territories of fine art, haute couture and avant-garde design and have been featured in prestigious publications including Vogue, L'Officiel and Asia Tatler. Most recently showcased in Rachel Roy’s AW 2013-14 digital runway show, Mr. Ross’s timeless designs also appear in public collections at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, Yale University Art Gallery, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and the National Museums of Scotland.
