| DESIGN NAME: Clip PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lamp INSPIRATION: During design process and prototypes making, I like to use hardwood and make it look light and functional. I like to make multi-functional things which can be used in many different ways. So while I was producing shelf I had lot of wood waste so I started to think what to do with that… On my old easel used during my studies was paper hitched on table with clothes pegs and these two small pieces gave me an idea. The lamp was born in my head! UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Lamp Clip is made of oak or medium density fiber. If it’s made of oak, the surface is protected with natural oils to save its real wood appearance. This ingredient is crucial during the finishing process. Its micro porous properties allow it to sink into the wooden grain and make it shimmer. Lamp has two parts, the base of lamp and upper part with light. Because of its small dimensions you could put it in small box and take it with yourself. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Lamp has two parts, the base of lamp and upper part with light. In base part of the lamp stands small wand. With this small wand we can use lamp in three different positions. Small dimension of lamp allow you to put it in small box and take it with yourself. If you use wand you could put it in semi-open position or move it to the left or right side. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in December 2015 in Cacak, Serbia and finished in January 2016. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Lighting Products and Fixtures Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Lamp Clip is made of oak waste which we have a lot in our production. The idea was it to be something easy to make because as designer I do lot of things by myself and I need lot of time for everything. So, she used screws from armchair that she did nearby and hinge from easel… First, I had problem with electric but after some times I find electrician who would like to help me. Better cable, better switch and finding small piece of wood which I used to fix upper part of lamp when it is working. Solving these problems, lamp started to look better. NAME: wood mood design PROFILE: It is brand it calls wood mood design. The first letter of this brand is the first letters of my name, Milica Maric. Logo is made with first letter M but upside down and M in mood, I am designer and I made this brand. My design is based on designed things made of wood, and those things could be used in many ways, and dote they are made of wood there are not heavy. Because of that it calls wood mood. |
