| DESIGN NAME: Swaggering Sheep PRIMARY FUNCTION: Cotton swab package INSPIRATION: A school project that want to explore a different way to use cotton swab package. The following year 2015 happens to be the year of Sheep in Chinese, so I used the figure of sheep to design the form, these two object combination is great. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This design performes the fun way to use the cotton swabs packages, more interact with people and also gives user a totally different emotion aspect. The design only used two materials, Hard paper of the sheep's body, and the woolen cloth on the sheep's back. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Hand shaking the package to take out the cotton swab. Can refill the cotton swab back into the package easily. The package looks cute and warm, it not only is a package design, but also a house decoration. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project took two month to finished, 2014 in Taipei. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Packaging Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Elastic thick paper to design the structure of the package, no glue used, just slot and tab. woolen cloth for the sheep's cotton. transparent paper for the label. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 150mm x Depth 60mm x Height 90mm TAGS: cotton, swab, sheep, package design, animal, swaggering sheep, paper design, paper package, house decor, gift, design RESEARCH ABSTRACT: A lot of informations about the paper structure from books, from the internet, also did a lot of illustration of sheep, in order to perform the best shape of the package. Measuring the length and the wide of the structure took most of the time, otherwise will be a lot different if the size is not match, the shape of the sheep will not be precise. Tools: pencil, cutting mat, needles and threads. CHALLENGE: When measuring each of the length of the structure of my package. Sometimes it's really confusing how big should the size be, I have to try it again and again to find out the best looking length.
